The students Fernanda Bergamo, Gabriel dos Santos and Leonardo Pavan presented their work at SIC developed at LaSOMI during the year. The team was very proud of the presentations and resourcefulness of the students. Congratulations for the work!

Student Luana Lopes and Professor Aloir Merlo attended the materials symposium in Balneário Camboriú / SC. The results of work carried out in recent years were presented through posters.

Students Carol Weber, Leonardo Pavan and Luma Fritsch and Professor Aloir Merlo attended SBQ in Joinville / SC. The latest results of this year's work were presented through posters and oral presentation.

19/10/2018 - Highlight: XXX Salão de Iniciação Científica

Master student, Caroline Weber, won the Outstanding Award for her session by presenting the work she had done in her senior year. The title is "Synthesis and characterization of polar liquid crystals containing isoxazoline and isoxazole nuclei.



15/09/2018 - Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry

The student Caroline Weber celebrated her graduation together with her LaSOMI's colleagues. She intends to continue in the academic field and pursue her master's degree working in the group. We wish you good luck and great success!



PhD Fellowship in York (UK)

The PhD student Luma Fritsch had a fellowship to work at University of York, United Kingdom, between August/18 and January/19. The research topic was liquid crystals, and she worked together with Richard Mandle, Stephen Cowling and John Goodby. The fellowship was obtained through PDSE from CAPES.



ILCC-Kyoto Poster Award 2018

The ILCC 2018 conference offers “ILCC-Kyoto Poster Awards” to outstanding poster presentations by young researchers (postdocs) and students to encourage their academic activities. Rafaela Raupp da Rosa won the poster entitled “B1 and B7 Phases Formation in Bent-Core Liquid Crystals Driven by Isoxazoles’ Dipole Moment Direction”. https://ilcc2018.org/award-and-prize/
